"The De-Deification Of The American Landscape"

The De-Deification of the American Faithscape.

I bow to Stephen Colbert's satire. I am a mere handmaiden.

Hat tip to Happy Catholic, who hat tips Mormon2Catholic. Viral humor at its best, I guess!

The comic bit about Unitarians was hilarious!

I don't know how serious Colbert was with the Creed, but it felt good to hear the spontaneous "Amen"s when he finished.

If only all Catholics felt comfortable enough to profess the the Creed in their daily lives - as St. Francis said, using words if they need to.

St. Francis of Assisi, pray for me.

I think satire is about some humor mixed in with a strong dose of truth--when Colbert is reciting the Creed, it's funny *in this context*, but I think it is also true for him. Check out the commentary at the Mormon2Catholic link, for example.
