Medieval Tech Support

(OK, I'm back for 15 minutes--then gone again!)

We thank the ancient monasteries for painstakingly copying and preserving our sacred texts. But there were troubles along the way. Behold... (and laugh)...

Oh my! That is so like real computer conversations I have had with folks. "You mean you have to plug it in?"

Indeed robk, that sounds like more than a few computer conversations I've had, especially with older people.

I spent almost 25 years doing tech support with Refinery Operators. Then I had 3 strokes and now I'm disabled.

fAre they speaking German, Norwegian or what? It wasn't Swedish...I remember trying to explain to a professor is grad school that she could access her email at work AND at home, that her email box was not contained in just one computer. She never did understand!

Re the email box contained in the one computer. My son (then a pre schooler) was watching a children's programme with one of his friends and the friend exclaimed "We have Piglet at home in our computer too." I wonder if that little friend grew up to be the grad school professor! lol
