Happy Birthday and One Year "I should be dead" Anniversary to me!

This blog turns one year old on March 11, 2006, when I wrote my first post on a whim. Happy Birthday Me!

On March 13, 2006, I was crossing the street and got hit, square on, by a very large renegade garbage truck. I walked away with bruises. Everyone (witnesses, parademics, ER docs) thought I should be dead...or at least badly hurt, like paralyzed.

Start blog: mowed down by a crazy garbage truck driver. Draw whatever conclusions you want from that. The I.C. take on it, from last year, is here.
Thank you, God, for this day, and all days where I get to witness to your goodness. And make some people smile (and wince).

Congrats on your Anniversary!

I also had a similar experience about a year ago, March 8, 2006.

I was in a horrible bicycle accident - basically my face broke my fall into the concrete. I now have 4 plates in my face and my mouth was wired shut for 6 weeks.

But through this , God showed me what amazing friends and family I have and how much I am loved. I also started a relationship with my now future husband immediately after this happened.

So, have faith! Everything happens for a reason.

Carrie, congrats on your engagement (not to mention surviving that accident!). Very cool how God can bring good out of some of the most horrible stuff.

Jeff and John, gracias!

We must thank God for His infinite goodness in preserving IC.

PS: Are we ever going to know your first name?

Happy Blogiversary! Your being saved from certain death means that God has Big Plans for this Blog,

should you choose to accept them, of course.

(a bit like mission impossible isn't it? The old TV series, not the New movies though)

I'm glad you were o.k. and decided to blog!

I'm not sure what's more embarrassing to admit, being hit by a garbage truck, or being bitten through the finger by a little yet potent(fruitlessly rescued) skunk who was then put to death to be tested for rabies. (I was asked to wait in the ER parking lot until the doc could get me in and out fast for an interim anti-rabies injection while awaiting skunkhead results). Well, at any rate, I'm truly glad you were alright.
:-) Praise God.
