Serious Poetry Winner

By "Intrepid Mother of the Front Pew Crew":

The Bread of Life

Not with our senses,
Nor by any mere human observation,
Only by an embrace of faith
In the words of Jesus
Can we be brought to our knees
By the reality of Him
Fully present
In this, our spiritual food.

Born of a virgin in the City of Bread,
The Word made flesh,
The true Manna from heaven,
The everlasting High Priest,
The sacrificial lamb,
The fulfillment of the kingdom,
The Prince of the new Jerusalem
Comes into our beings
And transforms our lives.

Congrats, Intrepid! I'll send you a button for your website when the humorous poetry contest concludes. (See, now you NEED to start a blog to use the button!)

Thanks IC!

It certainly helps smooth my feathers after being soundly trounced in the funny category.

My best friend has been encouraging me for some time to start a blog. However, given that I thought that Bible flash drive a while back was a whistle, I think I'll have to call in my technologically inclined husband for assistance on this one. I am also concerned with the fact that in two months I have failed to come up with a blog name; I think it may indicate that bloggers' block may be a big part of my future should I ever actually get one started.

So, I'll wear my button proudly until I can post it on my blog. It will really come in handy; as it happens, I just lost one on my favorite shirt...
