Spread the word...

about Fishers of Men.

I just read a USCCB article about how this vocations (to the priesthood) video won an award. Maybe I've been under a rock, but I've never seen this before, and having just watched it?: WOW! This is very inspiring, upbeat, moving, made me proud to be Catholic, and even made me cry. When you have 18 minutes, please, watch it...then spread the word! This isn't just about why it is great to be a priest, in a larger sense, it is about why it is great to be a Christian.

I know the screen looks invisible, but it works. Just click "Play" below.

Yeah, I actually saw this last spring. It was shown at a fellowship group for young adult Catholics at ND (http://www.nd.edu/~four7/). For some reason, that month became a vocations campaign of sorts - with this video and visits from Dominican Sisters and a Franciscan Brother all in a row. Still, I found it amazing to hear all those discernment stories. Very exciting and inspiring.

IC -

This video helped me realize that something I thought was an obstacle to my entering seminary wasn't an obstacle at all.

I met with the Vocations director and said, "Well, this is a problem... maybe next year?"

He asked, "Is it really a problem, or do you think it's a problem? Pray on it (and start the application anyway)."

Well, I went home that night, and prayed, "I keep telling you, if you want me to do this, you need to [fill in the blank.]" Then I popped the DVD in to get a little inspiration. Near the end, one of the priests says something and "BAM!" the answer was there.

The amazing thing was, God had been "taking care" of the problem all along, I just didn't notice it.

There are many places to view it, and I recommend it highly.
