Truth Is Stranger #65: The Brick Testament

"Take, eat; this is my body, given for you."
"But Master. It still looks like plastic. Then again, so do you."

The Brick Testament: that's LEGO bricks, folks.

A minister has set large swaths of the Bible to "picture format" using Lego bricks.

I don't know whether to be impressed or cry. I posted instead.

(By the way, that link to "The Law"? Definitely rated R. I mean, Legos and Beastiality...let's just say you've been warned. I wish I hadn't seen it!)

I actually used these visuals for a powerpoint for a Masters level class in OT I was taking on women in the OT. They went over quite well.

I love them but I do agree they are not for the faint of heart.

Are you sure it is a minister. I got the feeling the person who did this was actually mocking Christianity.

Its still kind of cool though ...

Item #10 on his FAQ page, excerpted for brevity:

The not an ordained member of any earthly church...

It's a clever idea and parts seem harmless enough, but he does appear to select material and terminology to maximize the negative. For example, he uses the term "slave" in the parables to denote characters who do not fit the present-day understanding of that word. And he does seem to zero in on those stories that are most rife with bloodshed. Definitely not one to share with the Sunday School class.

Whatever axe he's grinding, he's certainly got way too much time on his hands.
