Jerry knew that his best motivation at hell's corner of the marathon was to Have Sr. Assumpta stand on the sideline and give him her sternest warning. It worked every time and she was happy to ablige.

Several nuns at Holy Trinity Church were so disgusted by the local Planned Parenthood office's "Run for Choice" fundraiser that they requested special permission from their superior to protest. They were given the response: "Protest, my daughters; and if necessary, use words."

For years, Sr Agnes "Stopwatch" McAdam trained the seminarians and novitiates of the diocese, making sure they were fit to "run the race".
