Now I Lift My Name On High, How I Love To Sing My Praises

Very funny parody... Just in time for the holidays!

Apparently it's a take-off on the classic "MeChurch" video, also worth the watch.

That's very funny. It reminds me of all those praise song commercials. The problem is, the praise songs are about God, but too many people are all about self. Alas, and alack. Peace Y'all.

This video is very agressive, and full of hatred.
I know and work with praise and worship musicians, and my parish choir use their songs. I am in awe of the humility of my choir in their interpretation of the songs ; it really is about God, not about us. We serve, nothing more.
I do recognise the danger of "star system" attitude with that kind of music, but I assure you that the majority of these musicians are very humble and care about God more than about themselves.
And, more importantly, they have the most profound respect for other musical traditions, like traditional hymns and gregorian chant. Unlike the author of this video, they don't mock others just because they practice their faith differently. I call that a true christian attitude.

Gosh, jrduboc, I'm been a church musician too and I thought this was just funny. The point of this group's videos is that worship and church are about God, not us, and they use humor to make the point. I'm sorry it struck a nerve, but I don't see it as aggressive at all.

All right, all right, I might have been a little to much of drama queen here...I should try and stop being all emotionnal when it comes to music. It's probably a sign that I need to work on my humility...

From another past church musician, one who actually quit because she couldn't take the 'me, me, me' focus anymore... this was simply superb, and absolutely hilarious! Thanks so much for sharing; my brothers are going to get such a kick out of it.

This video is almost too real. The funniest part of the video is the fact the guy sings no better than me.

As a church musician, I loved this! My husband and I got a HUGE chuckle out of it.

Here's a clue
that something's askew:

You thought it untrue,
that it was about you.

Seems to me as if this video
hit close to home.
