Well Wesley was often accused of having Catholic leanings as he tried to bring the Anglican Church into a more Catholic direction.
True, and classic Methodism definitely has a passion for sanctification that feels very Catholic in tone. Since my dad grew up Methodist, and I went to a school full of Methodists, I have some fondness for the communion. Always happily Catholic, though.
